Panera Bread in Costa Mesa

Panera Bread in Costa Mesa is located at 235 17th Street. This bakery makes delicious baked goods, sandwiches, soups, and salads. They make the best broccoli cheddar soup we have ever tasted. Their vegetable soup is low fat, vegetarian, and tastes great.

They serve both hot and cold sandwiches on fresh baked bread as well as a wide variety of salads. The produce in their salads is crisp and fresh.

They have comfortable seats inside their dining room with free wireless internet access. The outside tables are covered, so you can dine outdoors on a hot day or a rainy day. Canine companions enjoy the outside tables.

When you enter the restaurant, you take a menu and get in a fast moving line. You read the menu in the line. You place you order and pay at the counter. The drink station is self serve. They bring your food to the table.

The writing on the ticket they give you says "We're just happy you're here. Please no tipping".

Savannah at the Beach Restaurant

We dined at Savannah at the Beach Restaurant last night. They are located next to the pier in Huntington Beach at 315 Pacific Coast Highway.

The food was excellent. They serve steaks, chicken, seafood, pasta, salads, soup, and tacos. They have a large bar with beer on tap and lots of mixed drinks.

The inside of the restaurant is quite large. They have both tables and booths. There is a large patio that offers a nice view of the pier and sand. We were seated on the patio.

The patio was noisy and filled with smoke. There were a lot of chain smokers sitting on the patio and some people were smoking large cigars. If you want clean air and less noise while dining, you should ask to be seated inside the restaurant.

The Crosby in Santa Ana

My parents took me to a new restaurant called The Crosby, located in Santa Ana's Art Colony at 4th and Broadway, next to Starbucks.

The place is owned by 2 kids from Fountain Valley, Philip Nisco and Marc Yamaoka, along with their buddy from Tustin, Chris Alfaro. The owners ride skateboards and look like they might be 18 - 25 years old.

The food is great. They have a wonderful chef. He makes pizza, pasta, sandwiches, salads, tapas, soup, and delicious desserts. They serve wine, bottled beer, and beer on tap. The place is very clean and the service was excellent.

They also sell unique books and clothing.
